We are currently seeking an Estimating Assistant to join our Estimating team in our Boise, Idaho office. The Estimating Assistant is responsible for supporting the estimating team with all facets of the bidding and cost estimation process. In this role you will provide logistical and administrative support to the cost estimating department, including written and verbal communication with potential subcontractors and suppliers participating in the project bidding process. This position will require the possibility of spending up to and over 50% of the work week making phone calls on behalf of the estimating department to locate, solicit, and engage subcontractor and supplier interest in the bidding process. This position requires professional, strong, articulate verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs administrative tasks to support the estimating team.
  • Locates, catalogs, and contacts potential bidders to participate in the bidding process.
  • Performs quantity takeoff from a set a project drawings and specifications.
  • Downloads, organizes, and prioritizes bid documents.
  • Coordinates bid supplemental information.
  • Orders, receives, labels, and distributes plans for upcoming bids.
  • Builds bid packages with all supporting documentation for distribution to potential bidders.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related construction administration experience. Experience in the construction industry and/or specific involvement in cost estimating departments or processes is strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
