JOB DESCRIPTION

MarVista, a Fox Entertainment Company, is looking for a Financial Analyst, Residuals with solid project management and residuals skills. This position will lead the Residuals reporting and claims process and work closely with the Production, Business Affairs, Legal, and Accounting departments on various projects. It is important that the candidate can communicate effectively with external stakeholders (Guilds, Producers, and Payroll houses) as well as employees at all levels within the company. The primary responsibilities for the Financial Analyst, Residuals include compliance with guild reporting requirements, managing all guild and talent claims, forecasting residuals obligations for different unions/guilds with finance, coordinate set-ups with Business Affairs and Content Ops, and Payroll house coordination with Accounting/AP for quarterly payment processing. Duties for the Financial Analyst Residuals may include gathering supporting documentation, reviewing contracts, and accounting records, and conducting various analyses, as required.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately maintain and coordinate the residual reporting obligation tracker across relevant departments using the company's rights management system
  • Ensure the company completes the residual process from set-up to payment
  • Research and coordinate responses for producers/guilds and ad hoc requests
  • Coordinate quarterly gross receipts reporting to payroll houses
  • Assist with residual estimates by guild based on gross receipts and cable runs
  • Assist in the development and improvement of residual processes
  • Communicate with Guilds as needed for various projects
  • Analyze distribution deals to quantify the residuals impact
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Production Finance and FP&A in preparing estimates of residuals during the Greenlight process for IRR and Film Ultimate purposes

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Residuals reporting and processing experience
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills with attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle adverse situations with diplomacy and authority
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and particularly Excel)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • New Media residuals experience
  • Entertainment industry experience
  • Experience with Rightsline, Anaplan, Workday, and Coupa
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, AFM, ACTRA/UBCP, IATSE agreements

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $28.85-33.66 per hour for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
