JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will support a 24/7 facility, with a flexible schedule required to include overnight shifts.

The Facility Technician will oversee and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor the operations of the building including but not limited to; adjustments to the HVAC, electrical, BMS, FLS and water systems. Will maintain chilled water and air conditioning equipment, ventilating equipment as well as other mechanical and electrical equipment. The Facilities Engineer works under the direction of the Shift Lead and reports to the Chief Engineer.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Oversee all building systems and critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the building envelope, data center and critical environments including fire/life safety, plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Electrical, mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and systems
  • Plumbing maintenance and repair of chilled water systems and general plumbing needs throughout the facility
  • Conducts a routine and on-going assessment of the building systems operations, making adjustments when necessary
  • Perform inspections and rounds to assure the proper functioning of critical equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment and systems
  • Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings, such as plaster and drywall repairs, and painting building structures
  • Maintain proper lighting in all areas of the building
  • Maintains records of maintenance in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures as well as utilization of protective equipment
  • Maintain open and on-going communication with leadership, colleagues, contractors and vendors
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations (i.e. Power outages, fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) and user concerns
  • Assist with maintaining inventory control programs/purchase tools, parts and supplies
  • May be required to be on call to support the business needs of our organization

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Essential duties are done both inside and outside, in climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled conditions. Exposure to wet, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, radiant energy hazards, electrical hazards, explosive hazards and burn hazards. Climbing ladders and scaffolding as required to complete and supervise work.

  • Proficient using MS 360-Office applications. i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, and/or Military experience is preferred
  • Minimum of three years of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Electrical and mechanical licenses are a plus
