Sr. Staff Accountant:

Lennar is seeing a Sr. Staff Accountant who will be responsible for the completion and accuracy of daily accounting functions relative to, but not limited to audit, land budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute weekly Division, Regional, and Corporate sales reports.
  • Print and reconcile Weekly Performance Report.
  • Review Purchase Agreements, verify and distribute EM checks, and create margin sheets for each new sale.
  • Prepare and distribute month end reports to Region and Corporate.
  • Month end reconciliation of Balance Sheet, Warranty Reserves, and Sales Backlog.
  • Create and maintain land budgets for all land assets.
  • Prepare and submit land wire requests.
  • Monthly reconciliation of lot transfer prices.
  • Prepare and submit new job setup forms.
  • Set up new jobs and homesites in JD Edwards.
  • Process bi-weekly commissions, advances, and bonuses as well as review expense reports for correctness.
  • Print and review payroll registers for correctness.
  • Print and review monthly headcount reports.
  • Review audit compliance schedules on a quarterly basis and communicate deficiencies to the appropriate department heads.
  • Handle all internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist Assistant Controller with various projects as needed.


Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree from 4 year college or university is required (Accounting degree preferred) or combination of equivalent education and experience
  • MBA and or CPA preferred (not required)
  • Minimum of 3 years general accounting experience required
  • Homebuilding experience preferred
  • Strong MS Excel skills requireda
  • JD Edwards experience and Hyperion / Essbase preferred

Additional Requirements

Ability to professionally perform multiple, detail-orientated tasks; good written, verbal and organizational skills; able to follow directions from a supervisor.
