About Us

HDR's Idaho Water Business Group is looking for an energetic candidate to assist on water and civil engineering related projects. In this role you will provide AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D design support on a variety of projects including preparing plans and specifications, site layouts, grading and drainage, utility plans and profiles, and coordinating with CADD/BIM technicians, civil engineers, and other disciplines for construction plan production.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of CAD/BIM Specialist, we'll count on you to:

  • With occasional assistance from project engineers and managers, produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided drafting software
  • Work productively in a team environment
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of civil related drafting experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Highly proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Civil 3D modeling including setup and use of alignments, profiles, surfaces, assemblies, corridors, and earthwork quantity calculations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with applying drafting standards and established company procedures
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A strong knowledge of plan preparation
  • Capable of preparing plans and profiles, grading, drainage, and site improvement designs
  • Associate Degree or vocational school training in drafting
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 or 2020
  • Experience with general AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and ArcGIS is a plus
